Session Type:
Y'all stoked from the Yuppie Family Slide Tour? Good. Coming straight at you is the first UK Amateur Downhill Slide Championship competition, in order to find the UK's top un-sponsored slider, and crown them with their rightful title. This is an outlaw event. Its a £5 entry fee for those wishing to enter, winner takes all, cash prize! As well as an amazing first place trophy, there will be other awards given out including important positions such as "Top Charger" and of course the coveted "Best Trick" and "Best Crash", so everybody better be charging! Meeting at 12, with a warm up including tuition from the best, the famous "Slide School". Bring a bbq, camp if you like! The event will be run in a jam format allowing riders to show a range of skill, for example riding on hard wheels and freeriding. Judging will be undertaken by Mark Short and Will Edgecombe, who will be looking for Form, Style, Speed and Technical ability. All attending do so at their own risk, if they think they are hard enough. But no matter how gnarly you may be, a Helmet and Slide gloves are necessary in order to ride, elbow pads and knee pads are strongly recommended! Google Maps: (50.425656,-4.688598) Whack that reference into the Google maps search bar, and the top of the hill is marked with the little red "A" marker. Show everyone what you got! SLIDE&DIE Updates! Basic outline of the day: Kicking off the day at approximately 12:30- 1 ish will be the famous "Slide School", and it is recommended that all skaters wishing to enter take part, as it is included in the price and will definitely improve your skating! There will then be a 1 hour break, which will be time for lunch as well as free runs for those competing, allowing for further warm up and development of skills learnt in the Slide School. Judges will be observing at this stage to understand the different level and range of skills being performed. After this hour, there will be the qualifying round. All skaters will make three runs as qualifying runs, and judges will be looking to select the top ten riders. Do not be put off if you think you won't make this stage, don't forget this is a competition allowing hard and soft wheel sliding, and is looking for form, speed and style as well as technical ability. The next stage is the final, where the ten finalists each have three runs to battle it out. From the three runs undertaken, only the scores of the top two will be counted towards the riders final score, or in other words, the lowest scoring run is dropped. The rider with the highest score wins, funnily enough! Other news: Theres going to be an epic range of Trophies, medals, certificates, stickers for all entering, as well as the cash prize for the winner, SO MAKE SURE THAT IF YOU THINK YOU RIDE DOWNHILL SLIDE, FREERIDE, WHATEVER, GET YOURSELF TO THE EVENT!!!
